The Cost of Hypnosis - A Typical Session

Since more and more people are opting for hypnosis as a treatment, the cost of hypnosis and hypnotherapy has largely decreased. Going back more than 20 years one would have assumed that hypnosis would have been quite expensive, due in part to the fact that there were limited numbers of practitioners. Simple demand and supply. And this was largely true. In the past 20 years we have seen an increase in the number of practitioners as hypnosis and hypnotherapy have started to gain wider community acceptance. With that, the price of hypnosis has been reduced as more and more people accept it as a suitable and practical modality to treat a wide range of conditions and outcomes. But first, what exactly is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a different state of awareness, what some may call different state of consciousness. When someone is hypnotized and their brain is been scanned via scientific equipment, it becomes increasingly clear that the brain changes under hypnosis. Very little is actually known about hypnosis apart from the fact that it can support behaviour change. There are many different theories as to how exactly hypnosis works to help people. One major theory is that hypnosis is a higher form of concentration. And it’s in this form of concentration that enables changes in the brain which allow for example, for people to more easily quit smoking, to lose weight, to relax and calm down. Another theory suggests that hypnotherapy is a form that allows for the unconscious mind to be untrained – to change alignment so that it is brought more into alignment with the conscious desires of the individual in question. Nearly everyone can access this state of consciousness that allows for behaviour modification.

To hypnotize someone, a hypnotherapist or hypnotist as they are sometimes called, will sit the client or person down into a comfortable chair, where the person can rest back and begin to relax and naturally calm down. What typically occurs from this point is that the hypnotherapist will suggest to the client that he or she relax through the use of hypnotic suggestion. Hypnotic suggestion is a hypnotist’s greatest tool, it is through suggestion that much of the therapeutic work is achieved and done. It the major tool in a hypnotist’s tool kit. When the person is suitably relaxed, it’s generally the point in which the hypnotherapist determines the death of the hypnosis. This can be done through the use of ‘convincers’ or ‘testers’. These tools help also illustrate to the client that they are in fact, in state of hypnosis and ready for the hypnotherapy. When the hypnotist thinks the client is ready for the therapeutic suggestion he or she will proceed to give them taking advantage of this relaxed hypnotic state.

Most people will pay for hypnosis to quit smoking or to reduce alcohol consumption. And some other common reasons why someone would come to see a hypnotist include, sexual problems such as premature ejaculation or dysfunction, stress, anxiety, weight problems, phobias, pain and a host of other conditions. If you’re looking to check out a hypnotist be sure to familiarize yourself with the cost of hypnotherapy that the hypnotist or hypnotherapists charges. Hypnosis is worth every cent when the cost of hypnosis is small compared to the possible outcomes of being a non smoker for example. Most smokers will spend more than $14 a day on a packet of cigarettes, so even if you only manage to quit smoking for a week, it should equal the cost of hypnosis in itself. In my experience the more expensive a hypnotherapist is, the more likely that the hypnotherapist isn’t very good. If you wanted to help people, you would probably charge a figure that people who need this most help could afford. This is unlike many other industries in that what you find is that the more you pay, the better the service. This isn’t always the case with industries such as hypnotherapy. The hypnotherapy cost should be weighed with the person’s qualifications to practice hypnosis. Don’t get hung up on the hypnosis cost – this is due to that fact that you’d probably ultimately pay a lot more to get your problem solved.

The price of hypnosis and cost will vary from state to state. Your best bet is to search the internet for various referrals and testimonials to see what quality is like in your area of practitioners. You shouldn’t need to travel far to find a good one. With the increase in hypnotist numbers, more and more people are giving the modality more credence and respect as a way of helping people bring change to their lives. When you’re considering the cost of hypnotherapy, don’t be too concerned if the hypnosis cost is a little more than you had bargained for. Ultimately, you should be very happy with the end results.
